Daylily

Daylilies are perennials, which have all season round ornamental, grass-like leaves. Daylilies do not have bulbs or tubers as many other perennials, but they have a rough roots. Daylily flowering period begins in July and ends in August. Number of flowers depends on the daylily cultivar. Three-year Hemerocallis plant can have 5-6 branches, and each can carry 10 to 20 flowers. Each flower lasts only one day, therefore they are called "Daylily", "Denivky" or "Taglilien". But no need to worry. Daylilies bloom every day gradually, so you can enjoy new flowers every day, during 4-5 weeks. Many hemerocallis cultivars are fragrant. Typical habitat for these perennials is sunny or partial shade place, but not too dry. If you start plant daylily in the spring, usually in that same year they will produce flowers.
